Las Vegas might be the city that never sleeps, but the fun doesn’t stop when the sun comes up. In fact, for some of us, that’s just when the party gets started! With shopping, snacks, guided tours, rides, a host of museums, and more, you’ll be busy till the sun goes down for days on end.

Whether you’re simply a morning person or looking for more family-friendly things to do in Las Vegas, here’s our complete guide to the top attractions to experience in daytime Vegas.

Visit Madame Tussauds Wax Museum

Dwayne The Rock Johnson with his figure at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas

The first branch of the famous wax museum to open in the United States, Madame Tussauds Vegas features over a hundred lifelike wax statues of your favorite celebrities, film and TV characters, athletes, musicians and Marvel superheroes, all of whom are ready and waiting to snap the perfect selfie for your Instagram.

Teens love this place, of course, but it’s perfect for all ages, and there’s some real artistry behind the waxworks. Each figure takes months to perfect, making them true art pieces worth admiring. Take a leisurely stroll through the galleries, or complete your visit with trips to the onsite Marvel Universe 4D Movie, Carnival Carnage 7D Game, or The Hangover themed bar.

You can even capture your own hands in wax for the ultimate souvenir.

The Madame Tussauds Wax Museum is a classic Las Vegas daytime activity, which is why we include it as an upgrade to our walking tour. Speaking of which…

Tour the Las Vegas Strip

A city with as much to offer as Vegas can be overwhelming — so booking a tour is a smart travel hack. It’s a great way to have an expert guide you through the best of the Strip, while sharing tips and travel recommendations for the rest of your stay.

A local can point out the details you might otherwise miss and share insider tips for more to experience on your Vegas vacation.

On our Las Vegas Strip Tour, you’ll see Caesar’s Palace, the Flamingo Hotel and Casino, and more, before soaring 550 feet above the strip on the High Roller, a breathtaking Ferris wheel right outside Caesar’s Forum.

End your day by exploring the LINQ promenade for a taste of the city’s best shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Marvel at Omegamart

Colorful Abstract Design

Created by the visionaries of MeowWolf, this immersive art experience has to be seen to be believed. We won’t spoil the surprise by telling you too much, but the journey begins in an intergalactic superstore, using immersive storytelling to send you through dreamy and surreal worlds.

It’s an open-ended space that rewards wandering, so make sure to plan for at least a couple hours to really get in there. Block out half a day to play through the storyline of the alternate reality game, or simply wander through, soaking up the vibes and sipping a few neon-hued drinks.

Take a thrill ride

If our guided tour of the High Roller whets your appetite for thrills, Vegas has plenty of rides where you can keep the fun going long into the afternoon. Stick around the Stratosphere after your Ferris wheel ride, and you’ll be able to catch some serious adrenaline on the Big Shot bungie or ride the world’s third-highest roller coaster.

Other Las Vegas Strip ride options include Circus Circus’ gigantic indoor Adventuredome amusement park, New York New York’s Big Apple Coaster, and the zipline at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.

Play at the Pinball Hall of Fame

Just across the street from the iconic Welcome to Vegas sign, this local gem of a museum houses 25,000 square feet of vintage pinball machines from the 1950s through the ’90s. Run by a nonprofit and created by true pinball fanatics, it’s an arcade game fan’s wonderland.

Wander the aisles taking in the vintage game art, or stop for a game or two, or three — all the machines are playable. It’s easy for time to fly by as you revisit old favorites, play new games, and soak up the childlike joy of this creative space. Visiting with kids? They’ll love it too!

Eat like an islander

When it comes to eating in Vegas everyone thinks about the all-you-can-eat buffets, but did you know that the city is actually home to the largest community of Hawaiians outside of Hawaii? As a result, you can find some of the best Hawaiian food on the mainland right here in Vegas.

Off-strip spots like the Straight Up Cafe and Poke Express are great for grabbing a casual bite. Or indulge without leaving the action in casino restaurants like Ai Pono Cafe in the Durango Casino & Resort or Aloha Specialties in the California Hotel and Casino.

Take in Vegas history at the Mob Museum

Made Men Wall in Mob Museum in Las Vegas

Officially named the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, the Mob Museum is one of Vegas’ most beloved museum attractions. Housed in the former Las Vegas Post Office building, the stunning space is also on the National Register of Historic Places.

Exhibits inside are centered around the history, stories, and artifacts associated with organized crime in the U.S., as well as law enforcement efforts to prevent these crimes. Take a self-guided tour through the historic timeline, and make sure to stop by the speakeasy for 100 proof pure corn moonshine distilled onsite.

Soak up vintage Vegas on Fremont Street

Viva Vegas Signage in Las Vegas Nevada

Named for politician and explorer John C. Fremont, this justly famous strip is an ode to vintage Vegas. Packed with historic and modern neon signs, you can visit at night to see how it got the nickname “glitter gulch,” but there’s plenty to do in the daytime as well.

Our Fremont Street Tour takes you on a journey through Vegas history. You’ll wander past the city’s original casinos as you learn how mobsters shaped the city, taking in sights like the train station that started it all, and the city’s oldest building.

During the daytime, the Fremont Street Experience pedestrian mall, which we cover on our tour, is particularly good for a ramble. Covered by an LED canopy, the mall includes stores, eateries, plenty of casinos, and SlotZilla, a 12-story slot machine inspired zip line attraction.

Unwind in nature at the Springs Preserve

Springs Preserve in Las Vegas

Built around the city’s original water source and operated by the Las Vegas Water Authority, Springs Preserve is a beautiful 180-acre park that doubles as a fascinating glimpse into the city’s natural history.

Home to multiple museums (the Nevada State Museum and the Origen Museum are both excellent), exhibits, outdoor event and concert venues, an indoor theater, a historic photo gallery, and scenic desert botanical gardens, there’s plenty to see here. If the weather is nice, you can spend some time exploring the series of walking trails winding through the wetland habitat.
